DoorBell with built-in AI

Issue 2 2025 Access Control & Identity Management, Products & Solutions, Smart Home Automation

Ajax Systems has announced the launch of Ajax DoorBell, featuring built-in AI, an IR sensor, and app control. DoorBell combines continuous operation with advanced security features. The device integrates seamlessly into the Ajax ecosystem, ensuring efficiency and confidence in security.

DoorBell fulfils its primary function by welcoming guests without keeping them waiting. As soon as a visitor rings the doorbell, an Ajax user receives a notification, sees who is at the door, and can start a conversation through the Ajax app. There are no delays or freezing; proprietary Ajax technologies ensure a clear and seamless exchange on both sides.

The DoorBell also serves as a security camera. It alerts you to the movements of people, animals, or vehicles and records video on the Ajax NVR or Ajax Cloud Storage, which will soon be available as a part of Ajax services. The device also informs security companies even without Wi-Fi, through the Ajax hub.

High image quality and two-way audio

The Ajax DoorBell features a 4 MP CMOS camera sensor equipped with HDR technology and IR illumination that reaches up to 6 metres, ensuring a clear image regardless of lighting conditions. The video doorbell implements the company's proprietary solutions for noise and echo cancellation, and it has a significantly higher volume level compared to other devices.

The video doorbell has built-in AI that recognises people, animals, and vehicles. Users can customise detection and receive notifications for all objects or only a specific type.

Enhanced Wi-Fi connection with reliable backup

The primary communication channel is Wi-Fi, with a range of up to 500 metres in the absence of obstacles and up to 30 metres even through concrete walls. This is more than sufficient for stable operation, for instance, in a large private home. For installers, this translates to less installation hassle, as there’s no need to position the router directly near the entrance. Even if Wi-Fi fails, the DoorBell remains connected to the Ajax hub thanks to the fallback communication channel – the Jeweller and Wings radio protocols. Both proprietary protocols are designed to detect interference and jamming, featuring built-in frequency hopping for enhanced protection.

Video is transmitted directly from the device to Ajax applications with minimal delay, due to JetSparrow's proprietary video protocol. This also guarantees data confidentiality, as no third parties are involved in the process.

DoorBell is designed with both function and aesthetics in mind. Its compact enclosure fits in the tightest spaces, such as narrow door frames or wall-adjacent doorways. Its minimalist design, available in four neutral colours, complements any exterior.
