Next-generation facial recognition access control system

SMART Estate Security 2024 Products & Solutions, Access Control & Identity Management, Residential Estate (Industry)

With a modern and innovative design, iDFace is the ideal device to monitor and control people entering and exiting a building, using facial recognition technology. Its high-quality algorithm enables face liveness detection, authentication of users, even those wearing a mask, and identification of up to 10 000 faces (1: N). Accurate facial identification is accomplished through two 1080p Full HD cameras (visible light and infrared light).

Besides biometric identification, iDFace offers a range of identification and access control methods. Proximity cards (MIFARE, 125kHz ASK or HID) provide a convenient and familiar option, while QR codes and passwords offer flexibility and security. This versatility allows iDFace to adapt to various user preferences and needs. It also offers IP65 ingress protection for use in almost any environment.

Equipped with a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display and embedded web software, iDFace offers a user-friendly interface for managing access rules and generating reports. It also features an integrated SIP intercom, TCP/IP, USB, and, on specific models, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, ensuring seamless integration with other systems.

iDFace is a product from Control iD, a Brazilian company founded in 2006. It is distributed and supported in South Africa by Enkulu Technologies, a company that provides comprehensive support and expertise in the field of access control solutions. Other products in the Control iD range include iDSesure, free software that supports up to five devices and 2000 users, which is expandable for a small fee. There are several other fingerprint devices with varying capabilities, such as the iDNano, the iDFlex, and the iDAccess Pro.

Frazer Matchett, MD of Enkulu Technologies, emphasises the company’s rigorous testing of the Control iD products. Enkulu has put these products through their paces and firmly believes that they are the ideal choice for mid-range businesses. They are a software integrator’s dream, with an amazing API that is freely available. The testing has unequivocally shown that the quality of the devices and software surpasses that of its competitors, providing customers with a high level of assurance and confidence.
