Capitec installs Speedgate turnstiles

Issue 5 2023 Financial (Industry), Access Control & Identity Management, Products & Solutions

Access control is a critical component of any security system, especially for facilities like Capitec’s Head office in Cape Town, which needs to ensure security for its clients. The Head office recently took its security measures to the next level with the installation of three Speedgate secure lanes manufactured and installed by Turnstar Systems.

Turnstar CEO, Craig Sacks says, “This access control solution uses advanced technology to ensure a safe and secure entrance solution, the lanes are fitted with sensors that automatically open and close the glass wings, ensuring the safety of pedestrians passing through the gates. The 1200 mm high glass walls of the Speedgates provide both safety and style, making the entrance solution visually appealing while providing maximum security.”

Turnstar customised each lane with access control readers seamlessly integrated into the cabinet design. This means that the lanes have a clean and modern look with no visible external controls, which enhances the aesthetics of the entrance.

The installation at Capitec Head office included two 550 mm wide lanes and one 900 mm wide lane, which can accommodate deliveries and wheelchairs. This means that the Speedgate secure lanes are flexible and can cater to the needs of diverse clients, ensuring their comfort and convenience. The lanes are easy to use, making them suitable for clients of all ages and abilities.
