The conduit to fire detection compliance

Issue 2/3 2023 Conferences & Events, News & Events

To be held at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 6 to 8 June 2023, Firexpo 2023 will include a line-up of trending technology and services, centred on ensuring the safety of a building’s occupants. Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations of products; network with their peers and technical specialists on the exhibition stands; and attend sessions at the various free-to-attend seminars, which include the Securex Seminar Theatre, Saiosh Seminar Theatre (powered by Saiosh and Sapema), the Facilities Management Seminar Theatre (powered by Broll), and the Working at Height Theatre.

According to Mordor Intelligence, “The primary motivation for building alarm system requirements and fire codes is to provide early notification to the building occupants so that people can exit the building and notify the fire service. Rapid urbanisation and industrialisation are propelling the demand for fire safety systems. The rising awareness about fire safety is also anticipated to supplement the market’s growth.”

• The inadequacy of old systems or the incapability of fire and safety systems for the new, vertically growing market has created the demand for new, improved systems. This allows fire system distributors, system integrators, and manufacturers to educate the public and the customer on more effective protection. Moreover, the expansion of the industrial and commercial sectors and the growing awareness of fire safety are expected to impact the business landscape positively.

• Installing fire protection systems is paramount to ensure people’s safety in emergencies. Government authorities of several countries have been taking new initiatives and launching directives regarding implementation of fire protection systems at offices and buildings.

Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions (a division of Montgomery Group), says, “Sourcing the correct technology and services to ensure that your company’s facilities comply with the SANS 10400 Part T legislation for fire detection systems can be a daunting task. Firexpo takes the aggravation out of finding fire detection solutions by gathering leading technology and service providers under one roof.”

“Exhibitors at Firexpo benefit from the co-location of the expo with the three-decades-old SECUREX, the 10-year-old A-OSH EXPO, and the Facilities Management Expo. From experience, we know that visitors to these three shows explore what’s on offer at Firexpo. It’s not uncommon to find decision makers and purchasing representatives from various organisations sourcing a varied basket of solutions for their security, facilities management, fire detection, and occupational health & safety needs,” says Anderson.
