FlameSpec flame detectors from Technoswitch

Issue 6 2022 Fire & Safety

Technoswitch recently added the FGD FlameSpec flame detector range to its product line. The FM-approved FlameSpec detectors address slow-growing fires and fast eruptions of fire while maintaining high performance and reliable detection in all weather and light conditions. The range offers high-performance IR3 and UV/IR flame detectors with the option of an integrated High Definition (HD) camera.

UV/IR flame detector: The FlameSpec UV/IR flame detector provides ultra-fast detection of a large variety of fires, including hydrocarbon (visible and non-visible) and hydrogen and methane/hydrogen mixed fires.

IR3 flame detector: The FlameSpec IR3 flame detector detects all types of hydrocarbon fires (visible and non-visible) at long distances.

IR3 flame detector for energy transition: The FlameSpec IR3 H2 flame detector delivers an unrivalled response for a number of fires found in energy transition applications, such as hydrogen, methane, syngas, ammonia and methanol.

The above models are also available with an integrated HD camera option that allows for clear imaging of fire and people at 30 metres. All fire events are recorded and stored in the detector for local or remote download and analysis. The recordings start 1 minute before detection and continue for up to 4 minutes; the event video can be used for post-incident investigation. Continuous HD video can also be streamed live to a control room and recorded on a network video recorder (NVR).

FlameSpec Flame Simulators

The FlameSpec Flame Simulator ensures fast and convenient detector verification in the field. These simulators can be used at distances of up to 7 metres from the detector and are suitable for use in hazardous areas.
