A powerful solution for estates

Residential Security Handbook 2022: SMART Estate Living Products & Solutions

For managers, homeowners’ associations and installers looking to meet the security needs of residential estates, CathexisVision offers a comprehensive, integrated video surveillance solution. CathexisVision facilitates efficient, centralised control room management of cameras and integrated third-party systems while providing a powerful suite of features.

CathexisVision’s video analytics suite can help security managers to address multiple requirements simultaneously: ensuring perimeter security, protecting residents and staff and ensuring a welcoming, safe residential environment. By harnessing the power of AI (through neural networks) to identify people, animals, vehicles and objects, the system analyses complex footage with precision and accuracy. Operators can determine in advance how to react to events by pre-programming system responses. Security measures can thus be automated, with automated identification of threats and responding with pre-configured actions (for example, sounding an alarm or locking an integrated access control system).

The system can identify abandoned objects, detect attempted perimeter breaches, monitor vehicle speed and movement and much more – all while databasing associated footage that can be exported as evidence.

CathexisVision’s integration capability is an asset to residential security management. The software connects to partner systems – such as cameras, fences, alarms, licence plate recognition, messaging systems, intercoms, access control and fire panels – to offer an expansive range of security features through a single integrated solution.

The automatic number plate recognition algorithm recognises vehicle plates from dozens of countries. Residents or guests can be added to authorised vehicle lists and access to the estate can thus be controlled. The software can monitor the time a vehicle is parked in a no-stopping zone and alert operators if a non-resident attempts to enter the property. Average speed can be monitored, thus reducing risk to pedestrians and notifications to the control room and camera activation can be triggered when suspicious activity occurs.

Smart Search tools enable operators to search through days or weeks of video footage in a few moments. The solution can be customised to the site and the community’s needs, whatever the size of the property. And with the mobile app, operators can easily monitor the site while on-the-go.
