Redesigned residential concealed pendent sprinkler

Issue 1 2022 Fire & Safety

Johnson Controls announced the newly redesigned Tyco Series LFII Residential 4.9 K-factor Concealed Pendent Sprinkler. With an increased vertical adjustment level of 19,1 mm, the new LFII sprinkler provides more adjustability than many current products available which only offer 12,7 mm adjustability.

This gives contractors added flexibility when cutting fixed sprinkler drops. The flat profile of the cover plate assembly conceals the sprinkler operating components above the ceiling for appealing design in homes, apartments, dormitories and hotels.

“The LFII residential sprinkler can be paired with Tyco Rapid Seal Fittings for even greater efficiency during installation,” said Don Ricca, global product director, Johnson Controls. “When combined, they provide the ideal mix of form and function, helping keep installations simple and aesthetically pleasing while offering exceptional performance for our customers.”

The Tyco Series LFII Residential Concealed Pendent Sprinkler is available in both ordinary 68-degrees Celsius and intermediate 93-degrees Celsius temperature-rated configurations. Both sprinkler models are designed with heat sensitivity and water distribution characteristics proven to help control residential fires and improve the chance for occupant evacuation.

The sprinklers are intended for use in wet pipe systems for one- and two-family dwellings, mobile homes, residential occupancies up to and including four stories in height and residential portions of any occupancy, per NFPA 13, 13D and 13R. They are UL and C-UL listed and have a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12,1 bar). A disposable protective cap is provided to protect the sprinkler during ceiling installation.

The Tyco Series LFII Residential Concealed Pendent Sprinkler complements a full line of Johnson Controls fire suppression products.
