Security solutions from one supplier

Residential Security Handbook 2021: Secure Living Residential Estate (Industry)

When it comes to residential estate security, options and solutions are abundantly available from a very large market of suppliers, which at times can be daunting when initially searching for security solutions that work, are cost-effective and reliable.

LD Africa offers a variety of security solutions, and security equipment sourced both locally and internationally from reputable and reliable vendors.

LD Africa can monitor a premises’ entrance by using either Longse or Milesight CCTV cameras. The access control for the residents and visitors can be monitored and controlled with Matrix hardware, which offers RFID, biometric or touchless access and egress, and be managed in the background using online portals, allowing for adding, deleting and editing users.

The perimeter can be monitored using CCTV, with analytics software for alerts of any potential intruders or breaches. The software can notify security personnel of unauthorised entry into certain areas. Loitering individuals can also be detected before a possible breach could occur. The same solution can be used for large estates to monitor the streets at night for any suspicious activity, and for smaller estates to monitor the public areas and swimming pools to prevent property damage or perhaps a more serious incident.

Body-worn cameras with SecutraQ are ideal for the security officers, offering a panic button and call-me facility, geo-fencing and GPS tracking, 4G push-to-talk (PTT) and LPR functionality. With Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC technology on board, the device can transmit and receive data efficiently. The device is IP68 rated, which makes it impervious to dust and water, and is 2 metre drop resistant. It allows the control room operator to request photos and video clips remotely, and monitor signal strength, battery levels, tampers and panics.
