Living on the edge

Unless you are a member of Aerosmith, ‘Living on the Edge’ refers to devices and their capabilities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation movement.

The principles of intelligent devices are captured in their capability of being:

• Instrumented – ability to self-monitor their status and report back.

• Integrated – part of some sort of network.

• Intelligent – ability to program them.
