Milesight ANPR cameras

Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) is a technology that uses optical character recognition on images to read vehicle registration plates. The Milesight ANPR camera series is embedded with LPR algorithms which can automatically detect and capture vehicle licence plates in real time. Milesight ANPR recognition algorithms support South African number plates.

Alerts can be set up with regards to predefined black- or white-list comparisons and appropriate action can then be taken.

With built-in intelligent video analytics, the Milesight ANPR network cameras can detect and recognise moving vehicles’ plate numbers up to 120 km/h with a recognition accuracy of more than 95%. These ANPR network cameras could be compliant with CGI and other third-party VMS (video management systems).

The Milesight ANPR standalone camera solution, with a black- and white-list embedded in the camera, is ideal for vehicle access control. It controls barrier opening/closing according to list comparisons. Sean Sykes, senior account manager at LD Africa, recommends this solution for traffic surveillance, car parking and vehicle entrance and exit traffic control.
