FS Systems launches FS Connect

Issue 3 2020 News & Events

The electronic security and fire detection industry is positioned for significant growth, mostly driven by larger 4IR themes such as cloud computing and services, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and video analytics.

In response to this growth, FS Systems has established a new subsidiary, FS Connect, a B-BBEE Level 2 company.

Formed as a collaboration between FS Systems and GECO Future Systems, the company will be taking over the commercial operations of the Johannesburg branch and be delivering end-to-end life safety and electronic security solutions.

“FS Systems is aligned with industry leading 4IR technology partners and has invested in leading-edge technical skills and execution abilities. We see our partnership with GECO Future Systems and the establishment of FS Connect as the perfect vehicle to take advantage of the macro industry growth, and our deep operational and technical skill base,” says Carlo Klopper, managing director of FS Systems.

Thabo Wessie, founder of GECO Future Systems, will be leading the Johannesburg-based company, FS Connect, as managing director. Wessie brings with him a wealth of experience in operations, procurement, supply chain management and production for large, globally operating business groups. Having worked locally and spent considerable time abroad, he has been responsible for multimillion-rand growth in these businesses.

“FS Connect is an exciting opportunity to bring to the market very sophisticated systems with the backing of a longstanding brand, FS Systems,” says Wessie. “Economic growth will ride in the cockpit of technology, and as FS Connect we are at the centre of making sure we use this technology to drive business efficiencies, protect and unleash performance of business assets. Things are moving quickly, and we are looking forward to making this technology available to the market.”
