In February, Elen Enclosures launched a range of Sarel boxes in ABS and polycarbonate, claimed to have performance equalling or exceeding the best boxes on the market. The company introduces this completely renewed industrial box offering: the Thalassa range.
In line with international environmental standards, the ABS and polycarbonate materials are halogen-free. These enclosures are IP66-protected with impact resistance IK 07 for ABS versions and IK 08 for polycarbonate. They conform to standard IEC 62208, and are internationally-certified.
The offering comprises 120 references: universal boxes in sizes from 65 x 65 x 45 mm to 325 x 275 x 160 mm with opaque or transparent covers in different depths. The logical range of dimensions allow perfect alignment side-by-side, with coupling accessories available. The company says that they are easy to machine, equip and install. All installation studs have the same diameter for a uniform fixing screw. The enclosure design has aesthetic appeal, with rounded edges and corner profiles enhancing mechanical strength.
Sealing to IP66 is achieved by way of continuous polyurethane gasket and non-corrosive screws to accept a flat-head screwdriver. Square, triangular or double-bar headed screws are available as an option. Easily installed hinges can be fitted to all boxes from size 125 x 80 mm. Plastic wall-mounting lugs are an alternative to direct wall fixing. Numerous mounting studs within the enclosure allow easy direct attachment of chassis, DIN rails or other equipment in a host of layouts.
Thalassa boxes and their many accessories - terminal blocks, ISO IP67 or IP55 cable entries, multicable entry discs, cable glands, mounting plates, rails, stand-offs, spacers, hinges, fixing lugs, etc - are designed to meet the requirements of a wide range of applications, to protect all types of small electrical or electronic equipment. Performance is guaranteed from -25 to 60°C for ABS boxes and up to 80°C for polycarbonate boxes.
Elen Enclosures has received the first samples, which were displayed at the Eastern Cape Industrial Technology Exhibition, to enthusiastic response from visitors. The first stocks have been ordered and are scheduled to arrive soon.
