Optimum monitoring of climate control units

Failures and loss of data represent risks, which can cause considerable damage for complex network and production systems. Rittal now also offers the option of monitoring climate control units with the computer multicontrol system CMC-TC, which enables the control of security-relevant parameters by remote diagnosis. The increased security by monitoring is cost effective in addition to providing better risk control.

The CMC-TC monitoring system (computer multicontrol - top concept) has so far been predominantly used for monitoring Rittal enclosures and IT racks. Rittal now also expands the field of application of this new technology to its TopTherm climate control units.

Control at any time and everywhere

The modular CMC-TC system works via interface cards, which can be optionally expanded - up to a maximum of 40 cooling units can be monitored. The desired values for Rittal TopTherm cooling units with comfort control can be set via WEB, SNMP or Telnet. Alarm signals and security-relevant information can be called up any time on the Internet or an intranet, as an option, SMS-messages are sent automatically to a mobile phone, fax or to an e-mail address. Remote monitoring allows information to be called up and received at anytime and everywhere. This is possible due to the integration of Ethernet technology in the existing control terminals in companies.

Extensive monitoring spectrum

Humidity control, smoke detection, airflow and temperature monitoring, fan speeds and the contamination of filter mats in enclosure climate control systems is monitored. The system also sends out warning for compressor faults, sensor breaks and wrong or missing phases. Access to enclosures is controlled and service personnel are informed of errors via an adjustable remote function. This creates an extensive security structure.

Monitoring from network to building technology

The CMC-TC system can also be used in network areas or production units - anywhere, where sensitive technology has to be monitored and secured. In addition to the integration into Rittal MPS systems and of the IT power management into the Rittal monitoring system, the CMC-TC also offers an holistic solution, as signals from the production unit or the building technology can be integrated in the monitoring. Whether building or factory automation - all data can be integrated in the control terminal software via the OPC server (OLE process control). Rittal increases security and therefore the efficiency of applications and units by monitoring systems.
