Complete premise distribution system

30 July 2003 Interconnection Infrastructure

Molex Premise Networks has launched two complete pemise distribution systems (PDS), designed for high-density voice and data applications. For the first time, Molex Premise Networks is able to offer both Category 5E and Category 6 pair management termination systems. Both solutions comply with current TIA/EIA, ISO and EN standards.

As it becomes more important to optimise structured cabling infrastructure investment, any cost saving is appreciated. Both MPN's premise distribution systems are said to be extremely cost effective; designed to achieve high patching density for voice and data applications where limited space does not allow RJ45 patching.

The ETL verified Category 6 PDS comprises of 96 pair Termination Blocks and 4 pair IDC connectors that have been designed with specific pair separation to provide superior NEXT performance.

The cost-effective Category 5E PDS comprises of 100 and 300 pair Termination Blocks. Each 96 or 100 Pair Termination Block comes complete with protected label holders and labels for site-specific network administration. The Molex Premise Networks Category 5E KATT connector's unique design incorporates 'vee-shaped' contacts that flex rather than fatigue when terminated.

Both premise distribution systems are available with or without mounting legs and may be installed in Molex Premise Networks' new wall mount frames.
