The SafetyBUS p fibre-optic transceiver from Erni converts the electrical signals from a SafetyBUS p interface into optical signals. Bi-directional data transmission is possible in full duplex mode. SafetyBUS p systems allow data rates up to 500 Kbps.
The SafetyBUS p fibre-optic transceiver can be used at SafetyBUS p devices which are suitable for this application and which support the power supply at the interface. The transceiver is used with a 50/125 µm or 62,5/125 µm GI glass fibre at a wavelength of 850 nm and has optical ST connectors. The optical interface is not necessarily compatible with other fibre-optic systems so this transceiver should always be used as a pair.
Maximum transmission distance is 4000 m (50/125 µm), and 3400 m (62,5/125 µm). Power supply is 5 V d.c. (±5%), 70 mA max, via a D-sub connector. Dimensions are 84 x 47 x 16 mm and operating temperature is 0 to +65°C. Application-specific fibre-optic cable assemblies are available on request.
