A war on the impossible

January 2016 Access Control & Identity Management

To mark the end of 2015, ZKTeco’s chairman, John Che delivered a presentation to the global ZKTeco team, thanking them for their commitment over the past year. He stressed that the success of the company was due to the efforts of its employees, and noted that 2015 was a watershed year for ZKTeco. The company has also added 350 new employees to its global workforce over the past year.

Despite the poor performance of the global economy, Che noted that ZKTeco continued on its growth path and initiated a number of important changes to ensure the future growth and success of the company. One of these changes is that the company now has an independent biometric business division that is focused on competing with the best in the world.

“Launching ZKBiosecurity and Time Cube successfully has extended our horizons in the biometric industry, and definitely raised ZKTeco to be one of the leading companies in the world,” Che stated. “We have made a solid step in moving from a hardware sales company to a total solution provider. Our sales numbers have been soaring dramatically along with our efforts in developing innovative security products.”

ZKBioSecurity is an all-in-one web-based security platform developed by ZKTeco for advanced access control functions. It is designed for multiple applications and can integrate access control, elevator control, visitor management and video footage in one platform.

Che also proudly announced that ZK is now the leading supplier of access systems to the SMB market. “Our market share has exceeded 50% in the global SMB access systems market.” Giving credit to his global sales staff, he noted that the sales revenue of ZK’s security products exceeded that of its other products in certain territories.

Locally, ZKTeco has also expanded its market to include turnstiles and other access control systems to be able to offer a comprehensive solution set to its clients. This includes proximity card access systems, fingerprint, vein and facial biometric systems, along with software solutions designed to make time and attendance simpler and more reliable, as well as to make managing access on a large scale more effective.

Looking ahead, Che notes that there is still a long way to go for ZKTeco. The company is also hard at work on a cloud solution to provide its customers with a wider variety of choice in how they set up and run their solutions. The company is also expanding its mobile apps to again make it simpler for customers to use and manage their solutions.

And there is another challenge on the horizon, the Internet of Things (IoT). ZKTeco is not sitting back and allowing its competitors to set the tone for handling the IoT market, but will be a major player in this market as it grows.

Asked about his positive attitude for the future in the face of challenging economic conditions, Che said he “Declares a war on the impossible!” This was the message he left with all ZKTeco employees. In order to be successful, Che encouraged his team to commit to doing the impossible, in fact, to declare war on the impossible in order to deliver above customer expectations in the drive to make the company and each individual more successful than ever.
