Exporter relies on IP video

CCTV Handbook 2015 Surveillance, Surveillance

The OCP group is a global leader in the market for phosphate and its derivatives, headquartered in Morocco. It recently upgraded its video system with Dahua HD IP solutions.

OCP has been a key player in the international phosphate market since its founding in 1920. It is the world’s largest exporter of phosphate rock and phosphoric acid as well as one of the world’s largest producers of fertiliser. Its production site had been equipped with an analogue surveillance system for several years, however, the system failed to give any useful information after an incident. Thus, OCP decided to improve its security by adding Dahua HD IP solutions as a complementary technology as well as to replace its old DVRs.

According to the customer’s needs, clear images was on top of its list, and due to its wide production site, it is of importance to deploy cameras, both indoor and outdoor, optimally. Moreover, since the manufacturing base was secured by different branded devices, product compatibility was a key issue.

Under the suggestion of Country Tech, Dahua’s local distributor, OCP decided to take Dahua speed domes (SD6980-HN and SD6582A-HN), NVRs (NVR3216) and DVRs (DVR0804HF-L) to secure its assets.

Dahua 1.3/2 Megapixel network speed domes provide real-time recording at high definition with a maximum 100-metre IR distance, ensuring a wide visual range at night as well as other poor-lighting conditions; the domes’ ingress protection rating is IP67 and IK10 to protect against harsh weather. NVR3216 supports maximum 120fps@1080p recording and accommodates two HDDs for data storage.

“We put quality first when selecting products,” said Afaf Rais, sales manager of Country Tech. “Partnering with Dahua for several years made us confident about the products and services they provide, all based on a reasonable price..”

“Phosphate is the economic pillar in Morocco, we are proud that our solution and products could be applied to secure it,” said William Zhou, sales director of Latin America and Africa at Dahua Technology.
