HDCVI secures five-star hotels in Shanghai

Dahua Technology has successfully secured hotels in Shanghai with an in-house HDCVI solution. These hotels were playing host to 46 national and organisational leaders in Asia during the fourth Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures (CICA).

CICA Shanghai was hosted from the 20th to 21st of May and the conference plays a significant role in security cooperation throughout Asia. Xi Jinping, President of People’s Republic of China also attended and presided over the summit.

The Shanghai municipal government attached great importance to the summit and spared no effort to make sure everything was secured. More than 50 reception hotels were required to upgrade their surveillance systems from standard definition to high definition. And the biggest challenge was the time frame, and how to make sure the image quality and product replacement would not compromise the daily reception and security concerns of these five-star hotels.

Under such circumstances and given the fact that these hotels were dominated by conventional analogue systems, the decision was made to adopt Dahua HDCVI as it allows easy upgrade without changing the existing cabling, while also proving long-distance and non-latent image quality. Moreover, the whole upgrade takes more or less 10 days as cabling is not replaced, only cameras and DVRs along with fibre optical transceivers.

With aesthetic requirement for the hotels, HDCVI offers a wide range of housings and its speed domes and box cameras coexist with the décor in the lobby, reception, entrance and dining areas.

“This project demonstrates all the benefits of HDCVI and has proved applicable and workable,” said Tim Shen, overseas marketing director at Dahua Technology. “Within only 10 days, the whole video surveillance system was upgraded to high definition, which is not likely happened with an IP solution. What HDCVI offers to the industry is another HD solution without the cabling, cost and IP hassles.”
