South Africa’s first online portal dedicated to the disruptive application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) across key economic sectors; including agriculture, security and energy; has been unveiled by TeleEye SA.

The company is a provider of sensing and imaging technology and is now the country’s only DJI enterprise dealer and distributor of DJI drones, aerial application software and accessories that are customisable for different commercial and industrial applications.

“Our GoUAV.co.za portal provides the most appropriate DJI drone hardware and aerial software solutions from leading developers such as Datumate and Precision Hawk which cater for diverse industry applications including long range optical viewing and thermal technologies,” says TeleEye SA MD, Philip Smerkovitz.

“For example: quantity surveyors, construction engineers, movie producers, farmers, mine managers, estate agents, and others have all benefited from the application of DJI hardware, camera packages and customised application software within their unique environments.”

Colloquially known as ‘drones’, UAVs are finding growing favour across a range of applications including search and rescue, fire fighting, security, agriculture, roof and solar panel inspections, aerial surveys and photography, and many other potential uses that benefit from an ‘eye in the sky’.

DJI (Dà-Jing Innovations Science and Technology) is a Chinese drone leader manufacturing UAVs, gimbals, flight platforms, cameras, propulsion systems, camera stabilisers and flight controllers. The Economist in 2015 described the company as being at the ‘forefront of the civilian-drone industry’. FLIR core thermal systems that seamlessly integrate with DJI drone products including the flagship Xenmuse XT thermal gimbal that is available on TeleEye SA’s GoUAV.co.za online retail platform.

GoUAV.co.za can provide specialist advice about seamlessly adding thermal imaging equipment onto drone hardware using a range of specially-designed gimbals. Whether thermal imaging cameras, long range aerial zoom cameras, components or imaging sensors, GoUAV’s extensive product range turns drones into formidable aerial surveillance systems.

With simple power-in and video-out connections, and MAVlink (Micro Air Vehicle link) compatibility, it’s easy to integrate FLIR Systems thermal imaging systems onto GoUAV.co.za’s drones and get flying fast.
