Illuder bags AVTech agency

November 2016 News & Events, Surveillance

Illuder.com is a distributor based in Johannesburg that has been supplying the South African and African markets with CCTV, access control and other security systems for many years. The company stocks a range of products from various international brands as well as its own brand, named Augen.

Recently, Illuder signed an agreement which will see it importing, distributing and supporting AVTech’s range of surveillance equipment in the region. General manager, Thinus Naudé says the company was searching for a recognised surveillance brand that had products making use of the latest technological advances, while remaining reliable and easy to use, as well as affordable. AVTech met these requirements.

AVTech’s current range of products offer customers high definition analogue (HD CCTV) solutions at a reasonable price. Apart from being able to obtain HD images using their current coaxial infrastructure, the motorised varifocal lens makes focusing and adjusting the camera simple. When making use of the AVTech DVR or mobile app (named EagleEyes), operators can make any adjustment to the lens required to obtain the optimal image. This avoids having to send technicians out to site every time a camera needs refocusing or realignment.

AVTech also offers its Cloud EaZy Networking with its solutions. This makes it very easy to connect devices to a DVR and to the Internet, allowing those authorised to connect to the DVR to view images from anywhere. It also allows for the easy management of AVTech technology, whether one is in the office or at a remote site. All you need is an Internet connection and the app. Both iOS and Android smartphones are supported and EagleEyes is free to download.

The company’s CMS Lite video management system is also supplied with its DVRs at no charge and allows customers to manage multiple cameras from a central location.

AVTech also provides a range of video analytics applications to its users at no cost. These include virtual fences, a people counting application as well as a ‘wrong-way’ solution which will trigger an alert if someone moves the wrong way past a camera. For example, if a store has an entry-only lane and someone walks out of the store through this lane, the system will raise an alarm and link it to the video footage of the person going the wrong way.

When it comes to the warranty, Naudé explains that Illuder has technical staff on site that can assist with any problem. In fact, he says the company is so focused on customer service, even the receptionist is trained in first-line support and can generally assist customers with equipment issues.

However, because of the reliability of the AVTech equipment, Naudé says Illuder has implemented a two-year swap-out warranty. Should a customer find fault with their camera, they can bring it in to the technical department for examination. Once the fault is identified, they will receive a new camera.

With AVTech on board, Illuder has a range of security products it can offer to small and large projects searching for an affordable, reliable and easy to use solution that is able to measure up to the best in the world.
