Making video surveillance easy

May 2016 Surveillance

Standing on the ladder during configuration, with the service monitor in one hand while adjusting camera settings with the other is not needed anymore. Focusing of the camera can be done after it has been installed while standing on the ground, thanks to Bosch’s Automatic Varifocal. It also enables the installer to focus on a specific area in the scene. By selecting a specific area, for example an entrance, the camera will apply Automatic Varifocal on this target, disregarding objects in its proximity.

The camera’s control panel is accessible from the exterior of the camera via a small hatch, another example of how design contributes to make camera configuration easy. Initial set-up or downloading latest firmware can be done without removing the camera from the package – simply plug in an Ethernet cable and set-up the camera. This substantially reduces time on site.

Obtrusive design

The highly visible, dust- and watertight (IP66) DINION IP bullet cameras are great for outdoor use in elevated locations like high up on a wall where first-time-right installation is particularly important. They offer a 720p or 1080p HD resolution for detailed images to easily distinguish individuals or minor details. Built-in infrared illumination enables object detection at a distance of up to 30 metres even at night.

Considering its usage situation the common challenges when installing a bullet camera are cable management and ensuring a dust- and watertight connection. DINION IP bullet cameras can therefore be delivered with a dedicated surface mount box. Firstly, this provides a hook to connect the camera to the mounting box, so installers can focus on connecting the cables without holding the camera. Then, after connecting to the network, all the cables can be stored in the surface mount box, ensuring fast and easy cable management. Since bullet cameras are mainly used outdoors, the surface mount box also ensures that the complete installation (camera and cable connection) is IP66 dust- and watertight, making the bullet cameras highly suitable for humid environments.

Safe data storage

DINION IP bullet 4000 and IP bullet 5000 cameras provide an easy back-up solution. Video data can be safely stored in the cloud, on a network video recorder, or on a built-in SD card. Any of these methods provide an easy back-up solution to safely store relevant video data.

All DINION IP bullet cameras are supported by Dynamic Transcoding technology. It gives users easy 24/7 remote access to camera controls, live video streams, recordings and multi-megapixel images.

The Video Security app for mobile devices (iOS and Android) offers instant real-time access to multi-megapixel quality video from anywhere, regardless of the bandwidth. To view multiple sites or cameras simultaneously, you can use the Bosch Video Security Client. This free viewing software supports stationary and mobile devices running Windows 8.

With the new 4000 and 5000 cameras, Bosch has updated its IP camera families to make professional video surveillance easy for everyone. Securing small and medium businesses is no longer a challenge. The IP 4000 and IP 5000 camera families offer a complete portfolio consisting of dome, panoramic and bullet cameras suited to every facility – indoor or outdoor, day or night, discreet or obtrusive surveillance.
