PTZ thermal and optical combination cameras

1 January 2016 Products & Solutions, Surveillance, Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

Sunell Security has released two new PTZ cameras that combine thermal technology with high definition optical imaging. Both models are able to detect the temperature of objects under observation and make use of uncooled IRFPA microbolometer technology.

The ONVIF compatible SN-TPT4230LM/F is an IP66-rated IP surveillance system offering a thermal resolution of D1 at 30 frames per second (fps), while the optical camera offers 1080p resolution at 30 fps, as well as 22X optical zoom capabilities.

Thermal lenses are available in 25 mm, 35 mm and 50 mm options. This will enable users to detect a human at distances of 500, 800 or 1100 m.

The thermal camera supports H.264 or MJPEG compression as well as DVE image enhancing and 3D noise reduction for clear and precise images. Depending on user requirements, the system can stream images in resolutions of D1 or CIF.

To enhance the security capacity of the camera, Sunell has included the ability to raise an alarm depending on the temperature of objects, motion detection, or if the network is disconnected for some reason. Audio capabilities are also included, as is edge recording via the Micro SD/SDHC slot, which supports a maximum of 32 GBof video.

The big brother of the SN-TPT4230LM/F is the uncooled SN-TPT4230HF/M which offers lens options of 75 mm, 100 m. This means the thermal camera is able to detect a person at 1500 or 2000 m, depending on the lens chosen.

Its thermal camera also provides users with temperature detection capabilities and a detector array resolution of 420x315. It will deliver D1 resolution video consistently at 30 fps.

The visual camera is Sunell’s Super WDR 1080p camera using a Sony CMOS vari-focus lens offering true WDR at 120 dB. It supports H.264 or MJPEG compression as well as 3D noise reduction. The system can stream images at 1080p, 720p or D1 depending on user requirements, with 1080p video streamed at 30 fps.

As with the previous model, Sunell has included the ability to raise an alarm depending on the temperature of objects, motion detection, or the network being disconnected. Audio capabilities are standard, and edge recording up to 32 GB is supported via the Micro SD/SDHC slot.
