Putting jammers in a jam

November 2015 Transport (Industry), Security Services & Risk Management

Pulsit Electronics introduced a telematics solution that ensures the protection of trucks, trailers and cargo from the effects of jamming. Due to the fact that the solution is extremely effective in mitigating risk, the technology behind its success is kept a closely guarded secret by the company. This is to ensure the protection and safety of their clients’ assets and GIT against hijacking syndicates.

It’s common knowledge that hijackings with the use of jamming devices is rapidly on the increase. It is also seen that syndicates are aggressively deploying higher level technology and more advanced jamming devices which now cover all frequencies including the RF bandwidth being used by the tracking industry. By deploying the Pulsit solution, syndicates are no longer able to hijack vehicles and their cargo with the use of jammers or by removing tracking units.

The upside of the solution is that it is proactive and totally automated, with no human intervention necessary. This ensures that collusion does not take place and therefore provides an added level of protection for logistics companies.

This completely standalone technology has a number of features endemic to each application. Each set of features is devised as part of a customised customer solution that considers individual risk areas and needs.

Although it does not interfere with clients’ existing fleet management systems, the Pulsit solution can be expanded from being merely a risk solution to becoming a full fleet management solution. Similarly, the company will look into any unique requirements a company may have and develop a bespoke solution to their specific needs.

Launched in August 2014, the solution is fast gaining a large footprint and increasing the demand both locally and internationally and is able to offer full protection on the road, but similarly protecting vehicles and its cargo when loaded and awaiting dispatch from warehouse or depot environment.
