Zimabli upgrades perimeter security

January 2015 Residential Estate (Industry)

Zimbali Coastal Resort is a breathtaking 700-hectare coastal resort situated on a pristine stretch of KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast. It is a place of expansive beauty, endowed with lush vegetation and an abundance of indigenous wildlife.

Appropriately, it’s Zulu name means valley of flowers. Featuring inspired architecture that displays an Indonesian influence, the majestic estate offers residents and guests an exceptional quality of life within a pristine natural environment. Located 45 km north of Durban and within close proximity to all modern amenities, Zimbali is perfectly positioned to experience the unmatched magnificence of the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Recently Zimbali commissioned the services of Rob Anderson & Associates to design and implement a state-of-the-art thermal perimeter system. After testing and evaluating many products, they standardised on the Bosch VOT thermal series and the Bosch Starlight range of low light cameras, all connected to the enterprise class Bosch Video Management System.

Rob Anderson specialises in heavy current electrical and security engineering, he is registered with ECSA as a professional engineer and is a senior member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers. He is widely respected in the residential estate market and has successfully implemented electrical and security systems at other prominent estates like Helderburg Village and Fancourt.

The installation of this prestigious project was awarded to Enforce Security Services in Durban. Enforce was founded in 1978 and employs over 8000 staff, is the largest privately black owned economically empowered security company in South Africa and is recognised as one of the top five key industry players. Its head office is located in Durban and it has branches in all major centres. Enforce is a national operation and offers a full range of specialised security services focused on the commercial, retail, industrial, community, hospitality, healthcare and mining market sectors.

The supplier of the Bosch solution is Pentagon, which has recently opened a new branch in Durban. Pentagon is a value-added reseller of the Bosch brand and specialises in security sub-system integration. The Bosch product line provides everything needed to capture, analyse, record and view high definition and megapixel video. Bosch IP cameras fit a wide range of surveillance requirements, and includes everything from economy HD cameras through to speciality thermal PTZs and 4K Ultra 12 megapixel cameras.
