Zimbabwe will be hosting the inaugural SecurExpo 2012 as a platform for stakeholders in the security sector to spread their wings into the territory and form synergies with existing partners in the country and broaden their portfolio in Zimbabwe. The event will also set the benchmark for regional integration in the Zimbabwean market.

SecurExpo 2012 will take place from the 14–17 March 2012, with a leadership symposium being held on the 14 March at the H.I.C.C (Harare International Conference Centre). The leadership symposium will be based on the theme, ‘Appropriate knowledge supporting informed decisions’ and will focus on innovations, trends, skills and services on safety and security. The symposium will draw from the wealth of presenter expertise, case studies and years of dedicated service from professionals in the sector.

The exhibition aims to set the foundation for the presentational display of appropriate sector equipment, technology and services to the attending buyers that would guide the making of informed calculated decisions. Event director Conrad Chibanda, says “SecurExpo 2012 will be Zimbabwe’s ultimate security and safety shopping event for the best home, physical, vehicle, corporate security and safety systems on the market. Incorporated in the event will be mainstream support services like the insurance sector.

SecurExpo will target two end users, home and corporate, which will attract visitors from all sectors of the economy since aspects of security and safety affect all people. Highlights for the SecurExpo 2012 event will be the business matching, networking luncheon, the awards night and the launch of an education programme called ‘Opportunity-based learning’ offering financing to 4th year university students to develop security and safety systems for the market. The programme will be run through local Universities.

The event aims to soon be the hub for the region with specific target buyers from Zambia, Namibia, Malawi, and Mozambique expected to attend.

The Leadership Conference will be held on 14th March 2012. Exhibition business days will be 15 March and 16 March 2012 where entry will be by registration. The public day will be on Saturday 17 March 2012.
